A Writer is Someone Who…

A writer is someone who … poetically poses their points. They have an elegant way of stating their thoughts, beliefs and stories. They delve in to their minds and spirits to withdraw the truth and create an image of it for the world to see.

A writer is someone who best expresses themselves through the written word; that method is the easiest, safest and most accurate to their personal truth. Writers are open-minded to the yin and yang of life, for if you cannot truly see, your interpretation of that vision is skewed.

A writer is someone who is a bit unstable in their emotions, teetering from one extreme to the other. Yet a true writer is someone who uses the act of writing to balance their feelings and find harmony in the discord.

A writer seeks to share their experiences, unabashedly, with others in order for them to gain from the wisdom of their foibles. Keeping that wisdom to oneself is actually the selfish act, not the desire to share.

A writer is courageous, for they have to overcome the fear of vulnerability in order to offer their life to others as a tool to learn from. To chronicle your fears and desires is intimate in and of itself, therefore the sharing of is the true test of trust, that the reader will not judge or use the information against you.

A writer is someone who commands respect and merits admiration. To be committed and true to your art in the face of materialism and greed is an arduous task.

A writer is someone who is carefree – unattached to neither objects nor time. They live in the realm of mental, emotional and spiritual. They are sensitive to nature and the ever present energy around us.

Lastly, a writer is someone who is giving and compassionate. The intended result of writing is to enlighten, empower and glorify this earth and all of its inhabitants. It is a selfless act and a loving one. It is a wish for peace, love and harmony. Knowing all of this in my head and my heart, I am proud beyond measure to consider myself a writer.
