Melody in the Rain

The sky has opened up
And delivers its tiny
Gifts of purity and truth
For all to feel.

There is a melody
In the millions of
Drops of rain that
Soothes my soul.

I am reminded
Of childhood dreams
And loving how large
My life seemed then.

I imagine the sadness
Washing away
To reveal that resilient
Free spirit ready to soar.

I am the sole master
Of my destiny
And the creator of wonders
I have yet to discover.
