My Worst Enemy
My enemy knows where I live.Every single intimate detail I possess,
She knows how to use them against me.
She learned all of my weak points,
Figuring exactly when and where to strike.
She waits around every corner,
Hiding in the shadows,
Then trips me up just to watch me fall,
Without mercy or compassion.
What pleasure she receives from my failures?
What joy from my sorrow?
Yet I cannot shake her;
For it is as if she can read my mind,
Calculating my every move.
She is always two steps behind,
Or more likely one step ahead.
I have become the prey in her cat and mouse games.
Worst of all,
Every time I think I am free from her torture,
I look in the mirror and there she is,
With that sinister look in her eyes,
Staring right back at me.
