My Heart

My heart aches with sadness
It feels the unfairness
It mourns what once was
It grasps at straws frantically

My heart yearns for reconnection
It prays for reconciliation
It hopes for reparation
It wishes all was healed

The days drag with heaviness
Memories haunt constantly
Alas the stars became crossed
Paths have been diverged

One thing it knows for sure
The love is still there
And always will be
This my heart feels most

The Haunting

Stop haunting me in my sleep

Please just let me be

Have not rested in weeks

The dreams never cease

What to do but plead

In dire need of peace

Love allowed me to breathe

Loss caused my heart to bleed

All I could do was weep

Fought incessantly to be free

Yet the haunting continues to be

Such melancholy company
